[Contest Over]: The Life and Times 1/19

In August 2005, space rock aficionados The Life and Times released their debut album, Suburban Hymns, to an eager fanbase and a curious world. Since then, the band has been blazing across the US with their special brand of indie rock goodness. With over 200 shows played—some of which featuring bands like Murder by Death, Pelican, and The Appleseed Cast—and a Japan tour under their belt, The Life and Times returns with No One Loves You Like I Do, expected to drop January 17, 2012. With buzz generating across the indie rock world, there’s no doubt that the band will have much good to bring to fans across the country this year. This January 19th (that’s next Thursday), they’ll be playing at Dan’s Silver Leaf in Denton, TX.

Fort Worth natives Calhoun, who will open for the band, formed in 2004 and have been serving indie pop rock fun ever since. Their recent LP, Heavy Sugar, has been getting heavy rotation in the D/FW area, thanks to hits like “Horsefeathers” and “The Engineer.” Also hailing from Fort Worth, psychedelic pop duo The Cush will join the two with songs from their 2010 effort Between the Leaves.
